With October half term on the horizon it may be time to plan an autumnal family holiday. The UK offers a wide choice of holiday parks. In this blog we will take a closer look at our top twelve to provide you with some holiday inspiration.

2. Lakeland Leisure Park, Lake District
Lakeland Leisure Park is part of the Haven group of parks and is situated near Grange-over-Sands. Lakeland is on the edge of the Lake District National Park and offers great access to tour the popular Lakes of Windermere, Coniston and Ullswater. The site has a good sized touring area which accepts all types of tourers and tents. There is an abundance of activities on-site, including boating, amusements, swimming and go-karts. The site has a well stocked supermarket and food can be purchased at Cooks Fish and Chips, Papa Johns Pizza and the Marina Bar.
3. Flower of May, Scarborough
If you’re looking for a family holiday near the North Yorkshire coast then head to The Flower of May. This site is situated between Filey and Scarborough and offers pitches for tourers and tents. A family can book a half term pitch here for £32 a night and enjoy all the facilities the site has to offer. Facilities available include an indoor leisure complex and pool, supermarket and restaurants.

4. South View Holiday Park, Skegness
The coast of Lincolnshire is home to South View Holiday Park, situated a ten minute drive from Skegness. The Park offers an indoor pool, fishing lakes and a golf course, which surely caters for all the family. Priced at around £31 for a super pitch per night it offers good value family fun.

5. Love2Stay, Shrewsbury
There won’t be many people who haven’t heard of Love2Stay in Shropshire. The site offers 122 fully serviced pitches and is a genuine five star site. All the pitches are well spaced out and offer fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Facilities on the site include an outdoor heated pool and outdoor play area. The site has a popular cafe which serves good food and cakes. Love2Stay is situated next to Salop Leisure which offers caravan and motorhome sales, a coffee shop and a garden centre. For added luxury you can book a pre-erected Isabella awning room which comes completes with sofas, a dining table and a heater.

6. Golden Valley Caravan Park, Derbyshire
Not everyone wants indoor pools and entertainment, if that’s you then consider Golden Valley Caravan Park. The site is set on 26 acres and is easily accessible from the M1, it offers pitches for tourers and tents. The site offers several outdoor play areas, Segway hire, nature trails and a cafe. Pitches average around £38 a night during school holidays for a family of four. They accept tents from £22 per night with no electric hook up.

7. Hafan-y-Mor Holiday Park, North Wales
Wales offers many fantastic holiday parks for families and couples. Hafan-y-Mor Holiday Park is owned by Haven and provides a holiday experience for all ages. Situated close to Snowdonia National Park ,and with direct access to a sandy beach, it is sure to be popular with most families. One of the main attractions is the indoor pool, with slides and a wave machine. There are amusements, fun activities and nine places to eat to site. Prices are around £33 per night for a family of four in school holidays.
8. Kiln Park Holiday Park, South Wales
If South Wales appeals to you then Kiln Park in Tenby offers direct access to Tenby’s south beach and breathtaking scenery. The site has two swimming pools, various activities and shops. The touring site provides 107 pitches for tourers and tents along with a heated shower block. Prices during school holidays are around £40 per night for a family of four.
9. Dovercourt Holiday Park, Harwich
Dovercourt Holiday Park is owned by Park Holidays and is situated on the Essex coast. The park offers an outdoor heated swimming pool (seasonal), adventure golf, a large soft play area and an adventure playground. There are amusements, entertainment and dining available onsite. The site is situated close to a blue flag beach and is only a few minutes from the town of harwich. This site offers amazing October value with pitches from £13 a night for a family of four.

10. Cofton Holidays, Devon
South Devon is a popular holiday location throughout the year. Cofton is situated near Dawlish, a charming seaside town with a fantastic beach and plenty to see and do. Cofton is well positioned for visiting larger seaside towns such as Paignton and Torquay. Cofton is fully focused on family fun, with swimming pools, amusements, entertainment and eateries. There is fishing available if adults are seeking some down time. Pitches start at £25 per night for a family of four, catering for tents and tourers, and average around £35 in the October half term.

12. Hendra, Newquay
If you are people to name the best family touring park in Cornwall then Hendra will certainly be in the top two for most families. The site attracts families and couples from around the UK, many whom return year after year. Hendra is situated in Newquay, on Cornwalls north coast.
