With many exciting new Colapz products available, we decided to go on location for a photo shoot! In this blog we will tell you all about the great two days we had snapping images.
Where did we go?
When we decided to have a photo shoot, we needed a great location that reflected the type of site we all look to spend our holidays at. We reached out on social media to see if there was a site that would be able to help. Straight away Angie and Marc Fowler responded. They said they would be happy for us to use their secluded adult only woodland touring park in Warwickshire. For those that don’t know, this is Somers Wood Caravan Site, a highly rated tranquil site.
Somers Wood Caravan Site offer a mixture of hardstanding electric and serviced pitches. There is a golf course and fishing lake next door and the village of Meriden is a short walk.
With the site booked for Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th June we needed an experienced commercial photographer to capture our product images.
Finding our photographer!
Finding a photographer can be quite straight forward, but finding one with commercial photo shoot experience can be harder. We wanted to find someone who could capture the style and practicality of our Colapz products and work well with us.
It didn’t take us long to find Andy Doherty of Doherty Photography. Based conveniently in Warwickshire, he had a varied portfolio of quality work.
We need models!
To bring our Colapz products to life we needed people to model them, people who were good in front of the camera. After a search in the local area we found the perfect couple in David and Louise. We booked them in for the shoot and tried to make our Colapz buckets, Flexi waste pipes and 7 in 1 utensils sound like a very glamorous job!
Caravan, Camper and Motorhome
Whilst we were able to bring box loads of our Colapz products we didn’t have any leisure vehicles to use them on. That was obviously a problem we needed to solve. Thankfully Angie at Somers Wood was quick to offer the use of their Elddis caravan. One down and two to go.
We had a think about who would allow us to use their motorhome and that’s when we contacted Karina from Here We Tow. Knowing her Adria motorhome was already on YouTube it shouldn’t be a problem featuring it in some photos. Karina was pleased to help out and we signed up her services. She suggested that local caravan and motorhome dealership Broad Lane Leisure might be able to assist with a Camper.
After a chat with Lottie Brown at Broad Lane, we were excited to have found a beautiful Campaway VW Camper!
That was it, we were ready for our two day photo shoot and we were excited.
Puppy power
No outdoor photo shoot is complete without a furry friend and our Colapz shoot would be no different. We arranged for Fudge of Here We Tow to lend a paw for some of the shots. We were even more excited when young pup Blue dived in with an abundance of enthusiasm. To be honest Blue stole the show for all of us.
Lights, camera, action..
On Monday 7th June we drove down to Somers Wood, plenty of Colapz products on board and looking forward to the forecasted good weather. When we arrived we were greeted by Angie and Marc, who gave us a very warm welcome.
Andy Doherty set up his equipment and David and Louise leapt in to action. With amazing weather, great leisure vehicles and some creative focus it was full steam ahead.
Over the two days we took photo after photo of the Colapz products in use. David and Louise had about ten changes of clothes, Angie and Marc provided some bacon and sausage sandwiches and the sun shone down on us.
Shaun of Colapz worked tirelessly to make the shoot a success and didn’t sit down to rest for two days.
Lottie and Kim, from the Marketing Team at Broad Lane, captured some fantastic photos of the two days which feature in this blog post. They even filmed a TikTok video featuring our very own David Fannin of Colapz!
We had a brilliant time and look forward to publishing the Colapz product photos very soon. They captured the great range we offer and how they can be used with your leisure vehicle or tent.
Thank you to everyone that made the day such a great success and we are already looking forward to the 2022 photo shoot.
