Top Ten Summer Festival Hacks

Top Ten Summer Festival Hacks

Heading to a summer festival this year? We're old hands at festivals here at Colapz so we thought we'd share the benefit of our wisdom. Here are our top ten tips for ensuring you get the most out of your festival experience.

1. Stash a liquid carrier in your car
A liquid carrier will help you carry water across the campsite but you can also use it for so much more than that. Use it to mix cocktails or stash your beer. A Colapz liquid carrier folds away so it helps you save space. You can even use it as an al fresco shower to give yourself a quick wash in the morning (inside your tent, of course, no one needs to see all that first thing!).

2. Dry Shampoo
We'd never advise that you don't shower for a few days, obviously, but with all that smoke and muck your hair is likely to get dirty, quickly. Dry shampoo will help to keep it clean and controllable.

3. Portable phone charger
One of the best things about not being at Glastonbury is on the Friday afternoon when the smug pictures start to dry up on Facebook and Instagram. Annoy your friends at home for longer with a rechargeable battery-powered device. Keep your phone alive!

4. A plastic bag for waterproofs
Got your bag with all your bits in? Yup. Is it waterproof? Probably not! Wrap all your valuables, like your phone, money etc in a plastic bag inside your bag to keep it all dry. Just don't get tipsy and accidentally think it's rubbish.

5. Bring toilet roll in your bag
Just in case.

6. Identify a meeting point
You'll lose your mates. You will. They're all eejits. But if you have a meeting point or a place that's easily identifiable that you all head to after a gig then you'll lose them for less time.

7. Bring earplugs
No, not for the music, that's TOO sad. For the night time. Chances are revellers will keep partying late into the night. If you need your beauty sleep use earplugs to drown them out.

8. Foam Tiles to sleep on
If you don't camp often you'll forget how uncomfortable it is sleeping on the floor. Give your tent an extra layer by using jigsaw foam tiles, like those you find in a nursery or playschool to add a little extra comfort.

9. Drink plenty of water
Remember that liquid carrier? Fill it every day and use it to fill up your water bottles. If it's sunny you'll get dehydrated much quicker.

10. Bring hand sanitizer
By day 3 you're probably thinking your fellow man is largely a filthy bunch. Little gel packs of hand sanitizer will help you catch fewer of their germs.
