Watch this video to see the stars from our team discussing their time in the Den. If you missed this weeks episode go to BBC iplayer and watch the episode dated 22nd of February. Two product designers are hoping their appearance on BBC’s Dragon’s Den will help make their colourful collapsible watering cans even more successful.
David Fannin and Shaun Moore appeared on the programme on Sunday night (Feb 22) to ask the famous business brains to invest £150,000 for a 15% stake in their Colapz range. The funky cans were well received by the Dragons but negotiations broke down when the pair revealed they had a previous equity partner who temporarily retained the Colapz Intellectual Property Rights, as part of a buy-out settlement deal. Now, these issues have been resolved, David and Shaun have already clocked up sales of 125,000 units through their own website Colapz.co.uk and distributors around the world, and are hoping the prime time TV appearance will drive sales further still.
The innovative light-weight watering cans collapse down so they can easily be transported in small spaces – making them popular with campers and caravaners, as well as gardeners and boaters. The portability of the products means they could also be used for water transportation in developing countries. The designers, from Nottinghamshire, have been fans of the show since it started and were thrilled to take part.
